Horseshoe Canyon Ranch
Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is located near Jasper, Arkansas and offers some of the best rock climbing in the Ozarks. The Horseshoe is a working ranch that is privately owned and offers many activities. In the climbing community it has become know as the place to go for bolted sport and trad routes in the Ozarks.
Nestled in a horseshoe shaped canyon, hits the name, it currently has over 300 bolted sport routes and plenty of trad routes and boulder problems. The rock is mostly limestone with routes ranging from 30 feet to the tallest in the canyon at 90 feet. Horseshoe is great because it has something for everyone, whether your a beginner or an expert climber you’ll find plenty of routes to get on at your skill level. Spring and fall are the best seasons to visit the ranch or when the weather permits during the summer and winter. Summer at the ranch can be difficult due to heat and vegetation growth.
Horseshoe also offers overnight camping for those looking to spend a couple of days climbing on the great canyon wall. It’s a great place to climb almost year-round as your not far from the Buffalo river and a short drive offers a great mid-day break when the weather begins to warm up.
