October 1979 in the Country Club Shopping Center on South Glenstone, Ozark Adventures opened their doors for the first time.

Ozark Adventures began serving Springfield, and the Ozarks with top-quality equipment, and clothing. Over the years a second location in the Battlefield Mall was added. After steady growth and the idea of consolidating both locations a new larger store was built on East Republic Road in 1998. With steady growth in 2006 Ozark Adventure moved into the current building 2 blocks west at 1111 East Republic Road (under the yellow awnings).
